阿棟與阿仁生在單親家庭，全靠母親在街市經營一間元寶蠟燭店生活。而此時公共住宅要面臨拆除重建，母親卻在前一年過世了。哥哥決定留下來經營家業，而弟弟忘不掉母親卻不敢面對，選擇逃到台灣讀戲劇。有一天，一位紀錄片導演來公共住宅訪問一些居民拆前的感受，訪問到哥哥，並跟他說有老街坊碰到他死去的母親。
