2004年，草雲付了8,000美金的仲介費，從越南來到台灣工作。在三年合約到期前，她選擇「逃跑」，成了「逃逸外勞」。草雲逃跑後，沒有居留證、沒有健保卡，生活四處漂泊，只能非法工作，隨時有被警察「捉拿」的危險，過著耽心害怕的日子。維興也是一位「逃跑」的越南移工，他在住處的牆上作畫，抒發對故鄉及家人的思念。經過14年後，草雲回到越南，她得到她想要的生活嗎?
In 2004, Thao Van paid an agent 8,000 US dollars to come to work in Taiwan. Three years later, when her contract was about to expire, Thao Van decided to escape, becoming a “runaway migrant worker.” After she ran away from her former employer, she lost her residence permit and the health insurance. Drifting from one place to another, Thao Van has no choice but works illegally. As she could be caught by the police at any time, she has lived with worry since then. Duy Hung is also a runaway Vietnamese migrant worker. He paints on the walls in his room to express how he misses his family and hometown. After having lived in Taiwan for fourteen years, Thao Van returns to Vietnam. Has she got the life she longs for? |

《逃跑的人》拍攝逾六年，記錄多位「失聯移工」的生活。曾文珍導演走進移工職場，甚至告別式現場，也拍下人性良善的一面。
許多來台的外籍勞動者，才華遭到隱沒。越南籍主角范草雲以自身號召力協助移工朋友：「我曾想過，她如果不逃跑，有機會做這麼多事情嗎?」曾文珍認為，與其將「逃跑」行為放大，不如將焦點放在環境的問題上...且聽導演娓娓道來，平日無法觸及的島嶼風貌。 |
