彰化縣大城鄉台西村，台灣的邊陲地帶，卻是石化產業污染的集中營。20多年來台西村民用自己的身體，刻印著濁水溪對岸六輕石化工業區的影響。面對生態的改變、至親生命的消逝以及在地文化的消失，台西村民要怎麼活著？《離岸》透過在地居民以自身的故事，談出他們的〝我〞作為一個農民階級的歷史、政治、文化處境。
Taisi Village of Changhua County’s Dacheng Township lies at the periphery of the island of Taiwan, it is however at the epicenter of suffering from the pollution caused by the petrochemical industry. For more than 20 years, Taisi villagers have been engraved on their own bodies the devastating effects of the industrial activities of the Sixth Naphtha Cracker across the Jhuoshuei River.
