臺南西市場，俗稱大菜市，在西元1912年適當時南臺灣規模最大的市場，隨著時代的演變，現今已不如以往繁榮。
故事的主角——曜，是一個快樂活潑的孩子。它出現在市場的每一處，是傳遞意念的燃香；是讓生活富足的叫賣；是愛情與友情橋樑的舞廳；是擔起整個家的生財器具。曜是市場裡人們心中的期許所聚集而成的形象，市場是它的家，而它也是市場人們的希望。 市場裡的每一個人都很認真地過著自己的生活，但時間依舊帶來了改變⋯⋯。一場大雨的來襲，沖刷了市場的繁榮，淹沒了整個市場，也將曜沉溺與此。曜它不斷的掙扎，希望能從中脫困以及在逆境中尋找出新的生命方向，最後它是否有一線生機？又或是沈睡在那時間的洪流中？ Tainan Simen Market, also called Da tsai shi, was the biggest traditional market in southern Taiwan in 1912. Nevertheless, because of the contemporary trend, the market was no longer prosperous. Wish, the main character in this story. It could be burning incense bring beliefs, hawkers’ effort to make their lives better, a dance hall bridging love and friendship, and property holding a whole family. Wish was an invisible image originated from people’s expectations in the market. The market was Wish’s family, and it was also the people’s hope. Everyone in the market was diligent but could not escape from the disaster. The heavy rain destroyed the prosperity of the market. Wish and the market were drowned in this catastrophe. Struggling in the accident, Wish was seeking for a new and hopeful direction in this dilemma. Would Wish recover from this difficulty? Or would Wish vanish and be forgotten in the history? |
